He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven

This poem is written in first person. A man is talking about his love for a woman. He is a poor man and cannot afford much. But he states, if he was a rich man, he would give her the world and anything she wanted. If he had the money, he would lay cloths of gold and silver light under his lovers' feet.
But he is not rich, so he cannot buy her this heavenly comfort, all he has to give her are his dreams. So, he asks her to be careful of them because they are very delicate and important to him because his dreams are all that he has, and they can be broken easily. This poem was written for Maude Gonne, he loved her all his life and she never retuned his feelings. Yeats was not a rich man and he couldn't offer her much besides his love.
